Mind Over Machines
Dmitry Cherches Cherches is Chief Technology Officer at Mind Over Machines. His 15+ years in IT have been largely focused on the development of high-transaction databases and e-commerce applications, high-availability servers and storage solutions, and multi-lingual Web applications. For more than a decade, he has been responsible for setting the technology vision for Mind Over Machines. Under his direction, the company has increased its depth of expertise and certifications in web programming languages, tools and technology platforms.
A native of Belarus, Russia and one-time aspiring professional swimmer on the Junior Olympic team, Dmitry was disassembling mainframe computers and creating DOS-based games as a child. After immigrating to the US, he ultimately received Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Dmitry previously served as Director of Technology at National Information Services Corporation (NISC)
Tom Loveland is Founder and CEO of Mind Over Machines. A largely self-taught software engineer, Tom founded the company in 1989 and continues to drive its mission to better business, government and society through the creative use of technology.
Tom's technology activism extends beyond Mind Over Machines. In response to the passage of Maryland's “tech tax” in 2007, he co-founded the Maryland Computer Services Association and, with other business groups, led a lobbying and grassroots effort that resulted in the unprecedented repeal of the tax before it took effect.
He was named by Baltimore's mayor to serve as “Google Czar,” leading a drive to entice the search giant to choose the city for an ultra-high speed broadband access project. He continues to work with local and state leaders in efforts to create greater high-speed broadband accessibility and foster opportunity for the citizens of Maryland.
Tom has been recognized as an Influential Marylander, Innovator of the Year, and Baltimore's Extraordinary Technology Advocate. He attended the University of Washington, St. John's College and the University of Chicago.
Rick Mosca is Vice President of Consulting Services at Mind Over Machines. He brings to the role more than 25 years' experience in technology leadership, including product management, application development and business process analysis and re-engineering.
Rick held previous positions as Vice President of Products and Services for Gannon Technologies Group, where he led the transformation of technology research into the product stage for the defense and intelligence communities, and as Vice President of Strategic Projects and Applied Technology at T. Rowe Price, and Program Manager at Roadnet Technologies (a UPS company). Rick attended Towson University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Joe Natoli is Chief UX Architect at Mind Over Machines. With more than 20 years' experience, Joe is a recognized thought leader in interface design, information architecture and user experience. He marries technology user expertise with a background in brand and product strategy for B2B, B2C and government projects.
Joe speaks frequently on user experience, web engineering and design for the Graphic Artists Guild, the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and other national forums. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore and the University of Baltimore since 1992.
